Day 56 – Update 移植後56日目

Since the last update things have been going smoothly. In fact, progress has been much better than I ever expected. Inevitable there are a few issues but, luckily for me, these are minor discomforts and not serious complications. The doctors are even starting to mention that magic word ‘discharge’ which makes everything seem rosy!

Though it will be some time before I do leave hospital I am going home this Saturday for one night. It feels wonderful. This is, of course, a trial run for my eventual release. Once home I will have to follow very strict rules about diet, going outdoors, meeting people and hygiene.

Yesterday was the 56th day after my transplant. It is significant because the doctors treat it as a milestone and an opportunity to assess my progress. I underwent a few tests (including another bone marrow biopsy). Hopefully the results will confirm that all is well.

前回の更新以降、事は順調に進んでいます。

実際のところ、これほど早く回復するとは思いもよりませんでした。
当然いくつか問題はありますが、幸運なことに、私の場合大した不快症状はなく、合併症も重いものではありません。

ドクターの口からは、「退院」というあの魔法の言葉さえ出始め、全てがバラ色に見えてしまいます！
実際に退院となるまでには、まだしばらく時間が掛かりますが、今週土曜日には一泊自宅へ帰ります。それがとても嬉しい。

もちろん、これは退院に向けての試運転です。
家に帰れば、食事や外出、人に会う時、衛生についてのとても厳しいルールに従わなければなりません。

昨日は移植後56日目でした。
一つの節目として重要な日で、ドクターが患者の回復度をみます。
いくつかの検査がありました（2度目の骨髄生検含む）。
その結果が、万事が順調であることを裏付けてくれるのを願うばかりです。
